Great War Miniatures-Woodbine Designs Hybrid Cavalry

GWM bodies with Woodbine heads to produce British Yeomanry in the Middle Eastern Theatres. These chaps are wearing the patch of the South Nottinghamshire Hussars.

Woodbine Turkish heads on GWM French Dragoon bodies to give Turkish lancers. The purists among usmay not like these as the horse furniture is French, not Turkish, and elements of the uniform and equipment are not correct, but I think with a suitable paint scheme they would pass muster on the gaming table.

Great War Miniatures German 3.7cm TAK Anti-Tank Gun.

Found this image lurking on me Photobucket account. Can't believe that I had not actually posted it on the blog. Must have painted this back in 2009 sometime. Click on the image for a larger picture. It may be a little grainy as I've copied this accross from Photobucket and it may have lost some resolution along the way.

Woodbine WW1 New Zealand Rifle Section.

I've lost count how many of these generic Woodbines I've painted! Still fun though. Some useful information from the new Osprey book on the New Zealand Expeditionary Force went into painting these chaps.

Perry Miniatures French Napoleonic Horse Artillery 2

Work on the Horse Artillery battery of four guns continues. Here we have four Perry Foot Artillery gunners with added greenstuff to create the cloak with cape as issued to Horse Artillery. This hides the crossbelts, short sword and bayonet which these figures were originally sculpted with and which are incorrect for their cousins in the Horse Artillery. The only thing removed from the original casts was the cartridge box. A little extra greenstuff on the cuffs to give the larger cuff found on the cloak and a little more on the bottom of the trousers to lengthen them to suggest overalls beneath the cloak.

Perry Miniatures French Napoleonic Horse Artillery 1

The first of a battery of four guns. Used the opportunity to experiment with some new paints. The Foundry French Blue, although quite dark, has photographed better than I thought it would . This darker blue suits these gunners.
