Perry Miniatures: Chevau-légers lanciers de Berg 1.

Perry "Red Lancers" with a different paint scheme. I really do love painting Perry's figures but you often find that you have to hold your breath and clench your buttocks firmly when things get a bit fiddly. Nine more to come and an attempt to replace heads with Perry Hussar heads wearing colpacks for the Elite Company.

My word Mark, they are exquisite; I particularly love the bamboo lances. Some interesting basing material on show, may one be bold enough to enquire about the broad leaf variant?

Hi Michael. These are Silflor Weed Tufts. These are "Spring" colour, I think.

I'm using a new material for texturing the bases on these. Used coffee grounds from the filter at work! Dry them out and away you go. Good for dark earth bases.

Hi Christian.
Yes, the command figures are on the list to do. Watch this space.

Beautiful figures! I really enjoy your blog and have bookmarked it for inspiration. . . I have just begun to paint Perry Napoleonic figures!

Do you assemble the figures completely before priming and painting, or do you paint up the heads separately and then assemble?

Hi Christin,
I assemble the figures first. I prefer to paint riders and horses seperately, but sometimes one does not get the choice! These metal miniatures come with heads already attached unlike the Perry Plastic cavalry.
